While the atmosphere is casual and inviting, some diners may find the high volume of customers during peak times overwhelming. Additionally, a few reviews mention the occasional inconsistency in food quality, which can be a common issue in takeaway settings. However, these instances appear rare compared to the overwhelming positive feedback received. Guests also note that, with so many chip shops in Matlock Bath, it can be daunting to pick the right one, though many declare Promenade to be their go-to.
A really decent chippy with generous portions. I ordered a mini fish and chips, and the fish was massive! Great service, lovely staff, and decent tea. P.S this chippy is popular with visitors and locals, always busy - a good sign!
We ate here yesterday with our 1 year old son. It was such an enjoyable lunch! They were really, really helpful in helping me to navigate my intolerances and I was so grateful for that. Very friendly. Our little boy loved his meal. Quality fish 'n chips in the sun, can't beat it. Will be back 😊

Fast service, warm food reasonably priced.
Great chippy. There seems to be loads along Matlock Bath now (last time visiting was 20 years ago and don't remember this many!) so a bit overwhelmong deciding where to go, but seen this had great reviews and it definitely lived up to them. Friendly staff, decent prices and proper chippy chips!
6.30pm during half term but I got a nice seat outside, the guy serving was very friendly. Best curry sauce I've had in a long time!! I had the mini fish and chips with sauce for £7 which I thought was great value and was perfect for me. Hit the spot! Oh and the toilets were clean.
Mini fish meal £6! What an absolute delight this was. The fish was cooked to perfection and was just enough for me. We sat outside in the sunshine and watched the world go by. It's definitely worth a visit!
